JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our dynamic tech team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide insights that drive decision-making and improve business processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, create reports and dashboards, and contribute to data-driven strategies.

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity for analysis purposes.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, outliers, and correlations in datasets using statistical and data visualization techniques.

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights and KPIs to stakeholders using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define data requirements, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Analyze user behavior, product usage data, and customer feedback to uncover actionable insights and opportunities for product improvements and optimizations.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and data mining to support business decisions, identify opportunities for growth, and address operational challenges.

  • Work on data-driven projects such as cohort analysis, A/B testing, segmentation, and predictive modeling to support business objectives and initiatives.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics, data visualization, and data management.

  • Understanding, interpreting, and creating gap-analysis on the current data warehousing design and ETL processes.

  • Design and build ETL processing for legacy/incomplete sources

  • Other Duties as Assigned

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role in a tech or data-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar tools for data manipulation, querying, and analysis.

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or similar platforms to create interactive dashboards and reports.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Familiarity with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data warehousing concepts.

  • Knowledge of basic statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented mindset, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree (Master's) is a plus.

  • Prior experience with standard ML models: Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, and Hidden Markov Models

  • Experience implementing a real-world Recommender or Ranking system

  • Worked with the Hadoop Ecosystem

  • Implemented multi-core/distributed software, preferably in a Linux environment

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services
