JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Data Scientist - Independent Contractor 3-12 months contract

Reports to: Adrian Delancy, Technology
Location: Chicago, Illinois

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:

Our client work regularly requires an SME for data processing algorithms and quality assurance by designing data modeling processes to create algorithms and predictive models. This includes:

 

  • Acquiring all models, techniques, and analysis tools from existing processes.
  • Design and build models and algorithms necessary for initial analysis.
  • Apply data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence.
  • Identify sources of statistical error, known and unknown.
  • Identify missed analytical opportunities that can leverage existing data/models/processes.
  • Design and build the models and algorithms necessary for ongoing business analysis.
  • Identify and integrate:
    • Sources of statistical error, known and unknown.
    • Error measurement protocols and quantization processes.
    • Bias vectors and identification protocols
    • Design and planning documentation for future-state enhancement of identified KPIs, error/bias resolution, and future data sources.

 

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of experience in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms
  • Experience in applying machine learning for pattern recognition
  • Strong technical skills regarding data analysis, machine learning, and programming
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, Java, SQL, and/or R
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or another highly quantitative field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree or PhD in above fields.
  • Prior experience with standard ML models: Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, and Hidden Markov Models
