Senior Data Scientist - Independent Contractor
3-12 months contract

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:
Our client work regularly requires an SME for data processing algorithms and quality assurance by designing data modeling processes to create algorithms and predictive models. This includes:
- Acquiring all models, techniques, and analysis tools from existing processes.
- Design and build models and algorithms necessary for initial analysis.
- Apply data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence.
- Identify sources of statistical error, known and unknown.
- Identify missed analytical opportunities that can leverage existing data/models/processes.
- Design and build the models and algorithms necessary for ongoing business analysis.
- Identify and integrate:
- Sources of statistical error, known and unknown.
- Error measurement protocols and quantization processes.
- Bias vectors and identification protocols
- Design and planning documentation for future-state enhancement of identified KPIs, error/bias resolution, and future data sources.
DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms
- Experience in applying machine learning for pattern recognition
- Strong technical skills regarding data analysis, machine learning, and programming
- Strong working knowledge of Python, Java, SQL, and/or R
- Problem solving aptitude
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or another highly quantitative field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree or PhD in above fields.
- Prior experience with standard ML models: Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, and Hidden Markov Models
